birthday party dilemma           ★★★
birthday party dilemma
Author:163ED   UpdateTime:2010-9-25 11:36:36

we have a problem in planning a birthday party for our soon to be 5 yr old son. we were going to have a big party at our house along the theme of superheroes, which our son really loves. because he is in a new school and his birthday is at the beginning of next month, we havent been able to get a bunch of kids from his class to come. there hasnt been enough time and we dont know who they are. we dont want to just drop invites in the kids cubbies and end up with a bunch of strangers (we're only going to be at the school for a year anyway). the rest of the party group consists of various friends and family and their kids. this group was made up of about 8 families.

now two crucial guests have dropped out citing really lame reasons. they say theu have their regularly scheduled activities to go to. as though those cant be cancelled! now we're left with a real small group and none of them would mix well. we're thinking we should cancel the party. what do you all think?

also, if we just bag the party and take our boy to a fun place with us, how can we get the superhero theme in?
